AHPI continues its ongoing efforts at all levels strengthening the Governmental endeavors in effectively combatting the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Involved in the Medical, Dental, Nursing, Allied Health and AYUSH Committees that Submitted Recommendations to the Government of India on the National Education Policy. Read More
  • GOI has taken the proactive step of recognizing Diploma courses in 8 subjects to be offered by NBE.
    This will enable availability of specialists in rural and difficult areas of the country.

  • AHPI Intervened on behalf of Private healthcare providers in a petition filed by Mr Sachin Jain in Honorable Supreme court seeking free treatment of COVID patients in the hospitals which are provided with free land. In subsequent hearings Honorable Supreme court directed all parties and intervenors to hold a Meeting with Health Secretariat, Government of India. Report is submitted by secretariat to Honorable Supreme court.
  • AHPI on request of General Insurance Council through Star Health Insurance to set up a committee of experts with Indian Institute of Management Bengaluru [IIMB] and Institute for Social and Economic Change [ISEC] to compare the costing of COVID Treatment in Private Hospitals as arrived upon by AHPI and General Insurance Council.
  • AHPI to implead in Honorable Supreme court in the matter of penalising Hospital in Vinod Khanna Vs Doctor and RG Stone Hospital, Delhi by NCDRC on Printed Consent Form.
  • Requested IRDAI for reimbursement guidelines towards Telemedicine services. Star Health Insurance is keen to start off reimbursement on Telemedicine services and have given their suggestions with some riders.
  • As per the direction of Honorable High Court of Delhi in the CGHS - UTI illegal deduction case, arbitration approach has been followed.
  • AHPI constituted a Media committee with Central & State representatives to effectively counter the negative image of Private healthcare providers being created in the media and to highlight the valuable and constitutive services being rendered to public in general by the private health case provided.
  • AHPI is constituting a Senior citizen forum with National law School of India University [NLSIU], Bengaluru.
  • AHPI initiated and recommended [in the year 2013], inclusion of road accident funds in the motor vehicle act, has been effective in the new changes to the Motor Vehicle Act.
  • AHPI communicated with IRDAI regarding delayed reimbursements to hospitals by Insurance companies. This was followed by formal communication network being established with GIC.
  • AHPI is in touch with the Prime Ministers Office and Health Ministers Office regarding subsidy towards DNB stipend and have also requested the institutions not to seek reduction in the NBE seats.
  • Met the Honorable Union Labour minister and appraised the current problems being faced by the hospitals and requested the ESIS dues to be cleared at the earliest.
  • Due to AHPI efforts, hospitals fulfilling the criteria can now register under MSME. Government extended all benefits of manufacturing sector to service sector as well which now cover hospitals with specified turnovers. MSME Limit is raised to 50 crores  for medium scale and accordingly, differentiation between manufacturing and service sector has been removed.
  • Written, to CGHS to reconsider its order of capping of COVID treatment rates in the states where the rates are capped by respective governments.
  • Liasoning with MOHFW on permitting MD and DNB final year students to work in COVID Hospitals and ensure that their degrees are offered post their 1 year service in COVID Hospital, similarly FMGE students and Final year Nursing students should also be enrolled to work in COVID hospitals and grant degrees at the end of 1 year of service with additional credits.
  • Communication has been sent to equipment manufacturing companies to reduce the Annual maintenance Cost by at-least 20%.
  • AHPI in association with Indian Institute of Space technology IIST, Trivandrum is exploring the possibility of use of ultra violet technology [device manufactured by IIST] for disinfecting the hospital premises in relation to the corona virus.
  • An AHPI initiative for its members - Digitization: 
    1. Teleconsultation Platform at concessional rates.
    2. Offering Tele Radiology services at special rates, providing prompt and quality radiological services across India.
    3. Complementary services to be rendered to  members of AHPI & ANBAI - Radiology information exchange services eliminating the need to print X-ray film, allowing sharing of images and information with referring physicians and patients.
